Anyone can declare themselves as God in so many ways, and the less intelligent and the ignorant will accept. The deceivers will also take advantage of the ignorant and convince them to follow ordinary humans as God.

Knowing ‘what is God’ will help one to know the true God.

1. The true God is one who has appeared thousands of times in this and other universes, and many times on this planet and other planets. This proves He is Eternal and omnipotent. Anyone who has appeared only once can never be called God.
2. The true God is the creator of billions of universes with zillions of planets. He does not come to one significant planet (Earth) to suffer. He comes to enjoy a loving relationship with His devotees.
3. The true God is one who is most merciful and loving. Anyone who only gives once chance (one life), or sanctions eternal suffering, or uses fear can never be called God.
4. The true God gives on the spot liberation, saves people in their current life, and destroys the demonic. Anyone who just watches people being harassed and killed and cannot stop it, can never be called God.
5. The true God has six opulence in full. Beauty, knowledge, strength, wealth, fame, and renunciation.
6. The true God is the well-wisher of all living beings, and not just the humans or humans from one community or nation.
7. The true God is a person with a most beautiful spiritual form. Anyone who is average looking, has wrinkles, or a beard can never be called God. These are the symptoms of a material body. Any invisible god will always remain invisible, because they don’t exist.
8. The true God is a very creative author with unlimited knowledge. He has compiled thousands of books of knowledge. There are even humans who have compiled more than 50 books. Anyone who has compiled just a few books can never be called God.
9. The true God is a responsible and intelligent communicator. He does not make   irresponsible nor ambiguous statements.
10. The true God performs miracles which have never been performed by anyone else.

“The whole cosmic order is under Me. Under My will it is automatically manifested again and again, and under My will it is annihilated at the end.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.8)

“I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 10.8)

“Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being – moving or nonmoving – that can exist without Me.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 10.39)

“Even though over a period of time I might count all the atoms of the universe, I could not count all of My opulences which I manifest within innumerable universes.” (Lord Krishna, Shrimad-Bhagavatam 11.16.39)
