“The verdict of all revealed scriptures is that by even a moment’s association with a pure devotee, one can attain all success. (Caitanya Caritamrta Madhya 22.54)

 ‘The value of a moment’s association with a devotee of the Lord cannot be compared even to the attainment of the heavenly planets or liberation from matter, and what to speak of worldly benedictions in the form of material prosperity, which is for those who are meant for death.” (Caitanya Caritamrta Madhya 22.55)

If you hang around with wise people, you will become wiser and be saved from bad habits which leads to ruin and degradation.

Genuine devotees or advanced devotees are those who show by action that they are servants of everyone. Essentially humble and kind to everyone.
