Why Australia Won the World Cup Cricket 2023
Many Indians are upset at not winning the world cup cricket 2023, but the ancient eternal scripture of India, the Bhagavad-Gita, explains exactly why India did not win.
“You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.47)
In terms of cricket, the above means the following:
We have to play cricket according to the best of our abilities, but we should not think that we deserve to win. We have to leave the result to God, because He knows all our past preparations, practices, efforts, sincerity, strategies developed, and whether everything was done in righteousness or not. Based on all this information, God very fairly assigns a result of win or loss to the appropriate team. So, the best team recently is not always going to win, it depends on the past actions of all the team members from both teams. It is important to know that God is not the doer, we are doer. He merely uses our actions to determine a fair judgement. Just like a high court judge will sentence a man to jail, the judge is not responsible for sending a man to jail, the man is 100% responsible due to his own actions.
On paper, the Indian team was the best by far, but still on the day of the final, they did not perform and lost. This is because the Australian team members consciousness was far better than that of the Indians and thus Australia won. It is the consciousness developed that matters, and not just the physical preparations like practices, and recent performances. Cricket is not just a physical skills test. It is also a mental skills or consciousness developed test. The consciousness of the Australian team members like Travis Head who scored 137 was far higher than any Indian player (on the day at least). That’s why he could not be out until he got 137.
Having certain team members who have good consciousness which is overdue for fruits can also affect the result of the team matches.
Another reason why the consciousness of the Indian team was not as high as that of the Austrians is that the Indians were too much hyped up and thinking they would walk over Australia. The Indians went into the final match thinking they will win easily. This destroyed their good consciousness and hence lowered it. The Australians went into the final match equipoised. They did not think of winning or losing, they just had the desire to play their best.
“Do thou fight for the sake of fighting, without considering happiness or distress, loss or gain, victory or defeat – and by so doing you shall never incur sin.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.38)
In the above verse, since Arjuna was a soldier in the government military, his duty was to fight in battle, we are not soldiers and thus we should not fight. We should do our duties like father duties, mother duties, cricket playing duties, job duties, business running duties etc…
To me it seems the Australians were practicing both the above verses, the Indians were not.
God is Not the Match Fixer (God is not the Doer)
God does not fix matches, He merely assigns a result based on what the teams deserve which is determined by the past practices, determinations, and whether everything is done in righteousness or not. This means that a team with less practices, cheating, and bad behavior in the past will eventually lose.
During the India and Australia final match, millions of Hindus and Muslims were praying for an Indian win, but they lost. When Pakistan plays, millions of Muslims are praying, but still many times they lose. When England are playing, millions of Christians are praying, but still many times they lose. So, God is not the doer, He does not fix matches. The team members get a result they deserve which is based on their own actions. God simply looks at all their actions and then assigns a fair result. So sometimes very good teams will lose, or bad teams will win, and we will find it hard to accept or understand the results. Because we can only see their recent actions, but God knows all their past actions and so He can very fairly give the correct results to the right teams at the right times.
God is Equal to All
God does not favor the followers of one religion or another. He is equal to everyone, because He is for all living beings, and He will give a result based on what we deserve which is determined by the actions we have taken (recently and past). One should never become a fanatic.
“I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.29)
