“The self-effulgent Vaikuṇṭha planets, by whose illumination alone all the illuminating planets within this material world give off reflected light, cannot be reached by those who are not merciful to other living entities. Only persons who constantly engage in welfare activities for other living entities can reach the Vaikuṇṭha planets.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 4.12.36)

“From this material world, however, people can be transferred to the Vaikuṇṭhaloka, if they incessantly engage in welfare activities for all other living entities. Such incessant welfare activities can really be performed only in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. ” (Swami Srila Prabhupada, purport SB 4.12.36)

“A Kṛṣṇa conscious being is always engaged in planning how to take all of suffering humanity back home, back to Godhead. Even if one is not successful in reclaiming all the fallen souls back to Godhead, still, because he is Kṛṣṇa conscious, his path to Vaikuṇṭhaloka is open. He personally becomes qualified to enter the Vaikuṇṭhalokas, and if anyone follows such a devotee, he also enters into Vaikuṇṭhaloka.” (Swami Srila Prabhupada, purport SB 4.12.36)

Karmis – These are materialistic people engaged in activities for their own material benefit. For example, making money, accumulating properties, having expensive  cars etc.. Karmis are not interested in liberation from the material world. They are attached to the material world. They live for themselves only.

Jnanis – People with religious knowledge who perform austerities for their own liberation. They live for themselves only.

Yogis – People who try to attain mystic powers and/or perform austerities for their own liberation. They live for themselves only.

Vaisnavas – People who are always engaged in working to take all of suffering humanity back home, back to Godhead. They are Krsna conscious. They live for the benefit of others.

Going to Temples, doing Deity worship, fasting, and visiting religious places does not make one a Vaisnava or Krsna conscious. It is treating people with kindness and not giving pain to anyone that makes one a Vaisnava or Krsna conscious.

“Only Kṛṣṇa conscious persons are eligible to enter into the spiritual world.” (Swami Srila Prabhupada, purport SB 4.12.36)
