In the Bhagavad-Gita it is very clearly stated in many verses that the living entity is the soul and not the body. This is a very important teaching from Lord Krishna. Spirituality is related to that which is eternal, the soul. Eternal means always existing or continuous existence. Thus there is spirituality only in Sanatan-Dharma, because in other religions they believe that the living entity is the body, which did not exist before this life and is temporary. That’s why they bury the dead body and believe in resurrection of the body. Anything related to the temporary body is pure materialism.
“O son of Bharata, as the sun alone illuminates all this universe, so does the living entity, one within the body, illuminate the entire body by consciousness.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 13.34)
“The foolish cannot understand how a living entity can quit his body, nor can they understand what sort of body he enjoys under the spell of the modes of nature. But one whose eyes are trained in knowledge can see all this.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 15.10)
