Lord Buddha is an incarnation of Lord Krishna, and thus, His teachings are just as important as the Bhagavad-Gita. Unfortunately, many gurus deride Lord Buddha, which is an insult to Lord Krishna. Lord Buddha and Lord Krishna are one, and therefore, both their teachings are equally significant. In many ways, Lord Buddha’s teachings serve as a practical application of the teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita.
Please meditate on the teachings below, as consistent reflection will enable you to slowly practice them in your life:
- Three things cannot be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
- You will not be punished for your anger; you will be punished by your anger.
- You can search throughout the entire universe for someone more deserving of your love and affection than yourself, but such a person cannot be found. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your own love and affection.
- We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
- You can only lose what you cling to.
- Physical charms attract the eyes, but goodness attracts the mind.
- When you like a flower, you pluck it. But when you love a flower, you water it daily.
- A jug fills drop by drop.
