“One should always remember the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His localized representation as the Paramātmā, who is situated in the core of every living entity’s heart. Thus one should offer respect to every living entity according to that living entity’s position or manifestation.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 7.7.32) “By these activities [as mentioned above] one is able to cut down the influence of the enemies, namely lust, anger, greed, illusion, madness and jealousy, and when thus situated, one can render service to the Lord. In this way one surely attains the platform of loving service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 7.7.33) To please God, one must become free from envy, hatred, jealousy, lust, illusion etc.. This can only be achieved if we treat all living beings nicely. God as the supersoul is situated in the heart of all living beings, next to the individual soul. This means God is also present in pigs, chickens, all other animals, and all plant life including trees. Thus we should not kill animals, nor chop down trees. If we absolutely need to chop down trees, we must replace them by planting new trees. “A devotee who faithfully engages in the worship of the Deity in the temple but does not behave properly toward other devotees or people in general is called a prakṛta-bhakta, a materialistic devotee, and is considered to be in the lowest position.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 11.2.47) If one is cruel to others and is engaged in devotional service like chanting and Deity worship, he/she is simply taking 1 step up and 3 steps down. Such persons will have to take birth again to pay for their sins (badly treating others). Nobody is free from the karmic reactions. In the current situation in the world, many people are  suffering because of the Corona virus, from all religions, because many people have sinned and are being punished. Nothing happens by chance.
