Who Claimed and Proved to Be God: Lord Krishna vs. Jesus

A. Who Claimed to Be God?

1. Number of Appearances

Lord Krishna: As per Vedic scriptures, Lord Krishna has appeared more than 18,000 times in His original form in the current universe. His last appearance was 5,000 years ago.

Jesus: According to the Bible, Jesus appeared only once, around 2,000 years ago.

2. Omnipotence of God

Lord Krishna: “O mighty conqueror of enemies, there is no end to My divine manifestations. What I have spoken to you is but a mere indication of My infinite opulences.” — Bhagavad-Gita 10.40

“Even though over a period of time I might count all the atoms of the universe, I could not count all of My opulences which I manifest within innumerable universes.” — Shrimad-Bhagavatam 11.16.39

Jesus: No statement made by Jesus is comparable to those made by Lord Krishna.

3. Existence Before Creation

Lord Krishna: “Before the creation of this cosmic manifestation, I alone existed with My specific spiritual potencies.” — Shrimad-Bhagavatam 6.4.47

“Brahmā, it is I… what remains will also be I, the Personality of Godhead.” — Shrimad-Bhagavatam 2.9.33

Jesus: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” — John 8:58 (KJV)

4. Supreme Truth

Lord Krishna: “There is no truth superior to Me. Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread.” — Bhagavad-Gita 7.7

Jesus: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6 (CSB)
(This implies Jesus is the path, not the ultimate source.)

5. God’s Omnipresence

Lord Krishna: “I am everywhere…” — Bhagavad-Gita 9.5

“For one who sees Me everywhere and sees everything in Me…” — Bhagavad-Gita 6.30

“Everywhere are His hands and legs…” — Bhagavad-Gita 13.14

“One who sees the Supersoul equally present everywhere…” — Bhagavad-Gita 13.29

Jesus: “The one who has seen me has seen the Father.” — John 14:9 (CSB)

6. Oneness with God

Lord Krishna: “The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts…” — Bhagavad-Gita 15.7
(Souls are one with God as part and parcel, not identical in totality.)

Jesus: “I and the Father are one.” — John 10:30 (CSB)

7. Control Over Nature

Lord Krishna: “I give heat, and I withhold and send forth the rain…” — Bhagavad-Gita 9.19

“This material nature… is working under My direction…” — Bhagavad-Gita 9.10

“I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me…” — Bhagavad-Gita 10.8

Jesus: “I will give you rain at the right time…” — Leviticus 26:4

8. Creator and Sustainer

Lord Krishna: “I am the generating seed of all existences.” — Bhagavad-Gita 10.39

“With a single fragment of Myself I pervade and support this entire universe.” — Bhagavad-Gita 10.42

Jesus: No comparable statement.

9. Nature of Human Form

Lord Krishna: “Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form…” — Bhagavad-Gita 9.11

Jesus: “Now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth I heard from God.” — John 8:40 (CSB)

Conclusion

✅ Lord Krishna explicitly claimed to be God.

✅ He demonstrated divine powers far beyond human comprehension.

⚠ Jesus performed many miracles, but his claims about being the Supreme God were not as direct or comprehensive.

Nothing was written about Jesus when he lived and about fifty years after his death, the early Christians wrote down that Jesus performed miracles and in the last Gospel, the Gospel of John. There are some statements about Jesus which might indicate he was God, but the Gospel of John didn’t even make any clear statements on Jesus being God, like those attributed to Lord Krishna.

Based on Jesus, those who make him God are evil doers.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and, in your name, perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ (Matthew 7:21-23)

The greatest miracle attributed to Jesus is being resurrected from death, but the facts are that there is no evidence to prove that he died on the cross, and there are many people who are pronounced dead and after a few days are seen walking (search on web).  There are millions of Hindu Yogis who have had the powers to bring back the dead, multiply food, cure the sick, and walk on water. These miracles don’t make one into God. These are mystic yoga powers which can be acquired by anyone, and the knowledge is given in the Vedic scriptures.

It is very likely that Jesus went to India and acquired the mystic yoga powers by living with Hindu Yogis.

The actual Jesus was most likely a good soul who had a good nature and thus was kind and loving to everyone.  The proof of this is that the majority of Christians are good people, because they reflect the good nature of Jesus.

Be honest with yourself and reflect deeply: Lord Krishna’s words and deeds match the definition of the Supreme God.
