In the current Coronavirus crisis:

  • The non-Vedic followers cannot say their God will save them, because many of them have been killed and are affected by the virus.
  • The Hindus have also been killed and are affected by the virus, but the learned Hindus will not say the God of the Bhagavad-Gita (Lord Krishna) will save them, because they know that God does not interfere with our mess. We suffer or enjoy based on our own actions, Karma.

Facts: The non-Vedic religions do not support the doctrine of Karma. These religions are based on oneness. One book, one life, one chance, one planet, one creation, one couple origin, one Guru, one appearance of God, one way (their way), one explanation of why we suffer or enjoy – only God knows.

Sanatan-Dharma is not based on oneness. There are many books, many lives, many chances (reincarnation), many planets with people and Sanatan-Dharma, many creations (cyclic), many couple origin, many Gurus, many appearances of God, many ways, many explanations on why we suffer or enjoy (karma).

“The life and death of an embodied soul and his destination in the next life are all caused by himself through his own activity. Therefore, O King, no other agent is actually responsible for creating one’s happiness and distress.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 12.6.25)

“The results of whatever a living entity does in this life are enjoyed in the next life.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 4.29.58)

“Nature is said to be the cause of all material causes and effects, whereas the living entity is the cause of the various sufferings and enjoyments in this world.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 13.21)

For very actions we take, we will face a reaction, this is the law of Karma. We are responsible for our own bills. As we sow, so shall we reap. God is simply the witness, overseer, per miter, and the judgement giver. The court judge will give judgement based on the crimes committed, regardless of the religion of the criminal. In a similar way, God will give judgement based on the sins committed, regardless of the religion of the sinner. The law of karma is the law of nature, it applies to everyone, regardless of the religion or no religion. There is justice for all living beings. An eye for an eye.

“Lord Kṛṣṇa said: It is by the force of karma that a living entity takes birth, and it is by karma alone that he meets his destruction. His happiness, distress, fear and sense of security all arise as the effects of karma.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 10.24.13)

The humans can build good karma or bad karma, but for the animals and plants who are also living beings with a soul. For them there is no building of karma, they are simply burning off their bad karma which they accumulated when they were in the human form. That’s why they (the souls) are in animal or plant bodies. This means that if a human hurts or kills another human being or animals or plants, they will have to suffer for it. The animals and plants killing other animals or plants do not accumulate any karma. They are in gross ignorance and are in a fixed cycle of transmigration from one body to another through the 8 million plant and animal species. After going through the 8 million species, they will once again get another human form. Another chance to develop the consciousness and know God as a person. The plants and animals cannot develop their consciousness in the same species.

“Covered by the mode of ignorance in material nature, the living entity is sometimes a male, sometimes a female, sometimes a eunuch, sometimes a human being, sometimes a demigod, sometimes a bird, an animal, and so on. In this way he is wandering within the material world. His acceptance of different types of bodies is brought about by his activities under the influence of the modes of nature.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 4.29.29)

“The Personality of Godhead said: Under the supervision of the Supreme Lord and according to the result of his work, the living entity, the soul, is made to enter into the womb of a woman through the particle of male semen to assume a particular type of body.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 3.31.1)

People of all religions are suffering due to the Coronavirus, because people of all religions have engaged in one or more of the following sinful activities on a massive scale and for so long.

  • Animal killing
  • Plant killing (tress)
  • Lying
  • Abortion

“There is nothing more sinful than untruthfulness. Because of this, mother earth once said, “I can bear any heavy thing except a person who is a liar.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 8.20.4)

There are also other sinful activities, but for the whole world to suffer at the same time, the above are the main sinful activities.

People are praying and asking God to save them, but very few are realizing and admitting their mistakes and promising God that they will stop all the above sinful activities immediately.

If you are reading this, then at least you can accept your mistakes and make a vow to stop all the above sinful activities from this day on and you will also pass on this message to others. In this way, you will truly please God. God wants actions that will benefit all living beings and not just sweet words (prayers).

Sweet words are worthless, actions are priceless.

During this crisis, we should also practice the second from the pillars of Sanatan-Dharma, compassion for all living entities. We should help everyone from all religions, communities, and nations.

“One who is not envious but who is a kind friend to all living entities… – he is very dear to Me.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 12.13-14)
