Based on many verses from the Vedic scriptures. Aryans are those who are most civilized and followers of the Vedic culture and religion.

The literal meaning of the country named ‘Iran’ is ‘The land of the Aryans’. This means that the Iranians originate from India and were once followers of the Vedic culture and religion. I have found the Iranians to be most friendly. This must be because they still have some remnants of the Vedic culture of being friendly to all living beings (BG 12.13-14).

“One who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities…-  such a devotee of Mine is very dear to Me” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 12.13-14)

In Sanskrit ‘Arya’ means civilized class of men who know the value of life.

“Anarya – persons who do not know the value of life…” (Sanskrit of Bhagavad-Gita 2.2)

“Sukadeva Gosvāmī continued: O best of the advanced Āryans, after saying this much to the sons of Prajāpati Dakṣa, Nārada Muni, whose merciful glance never goes in vain, left as he had planned. The sons of Dakṣa followed their elder brothers. Not attempting to produce children, they engaged themselves in Kṛṣṇa consciousness.” (shrimad-Bhagavatam 6.5.32)

“… Those who follow their occupational duties under Your supervision, being equal to all living entities, moving and nonmoving, and not considering high and low, are called Āryans. Such Āryans worship You, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 6.16.43)

“Persons who chant the holy name of Your Lordship must have executed all kinds of austerities and fire sacrifices and achieved all the good manners of the Aryans…” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 3.33.7)
