God Appears Unlimited Times
The real God appears unlimited times in various forms.
“Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates, and although I am the Lord of all living entities, I still appear in every millennium in My original transcendental form.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.6)
This verse has to be combined with the teachings from the Srimad-Bhagavatam, in order to properly understand it. In the above verse translation, the word ‘millennium’ is used to describe the Sanskrit word Kalpa. Since this is the closet word that can be used to describe a very long time in the English dictionary, but it does not mean 1000 years in this verse. Kalpa means one complete day of Brahma, this is 8.64 billion years. In this verse, Lord Krishna is stating that He appears in His original ‘Krishna’ form once every 8.64 billion years.
“To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.8)
In the above verse, ‘millennium’ refers to the Sanskrit word ‘Yuga’, meaning Krishna appears in His other forms in every Yuga, meaning era or age. There are four Yugas: Satya, Tetra, Dvarpa, Kali. We are currently 5000 years into the Kali Yuga. Lord Krishna will appear in the form of Lord Kalki at the end of Kali Yuga, which will be in 427,000 years’ time. This does not mean that Lord Krishna is not present here today. He is present everywhere, always. But He will specially appear at the end of Kali Yuga to destroy the demonic and start the new Yuga, Satya Yuga.
“I am everywhere..” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.5)
“O son of Kunti, at the end of the millennium all material manifestations enter into My nature, and at the beginning of another millennium, by My potency, I create them again.“ (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.7)
This verse has to be combined with the teachings from the Srimad-Bhagavatam in order to properly understand it. In the above verse translation, the Sanskrit word ‘Maha Kalpa’ is translated as ‘millennium’, and this refers to a time period of 311.040 trillion years. At the beginning of each cycle, Lord Krishna in the form of Maha-Vishnu appears and creates this and millions of other universes. The duration of each cycle is 311.040 trillion years.
Based on the non-Vedic beliefs, God only has one appearance and that too invisible, unknown, not describable, and unknowable. This essentially means no appearance.
Lord Krishna has appeared unlimited times and in each and every appearance, He very clearly proved that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Lord Krishna has no competitors. The so called other gods are claimed or created by man, and have yet to appear and prove it.
