What is the evidence for the existence of God?

What is the evidence for the existence of God?

The scientists and atheists say there is no God:

·         Can any scientist create life? Every second God is creating trillions of living beings in various forms. This is evidence of God

·         Everything on this planet is maintained by living beings, so who is maintaining everything beyond this planet? This is evidence of God

·         Can any scientist create trees that produce fruits and vegetables? This is evidence of God

·         The cow takes water and grass and turns it into milk. Can any scientist do this? This is evidence of God

·         According to the scientists, it would take over 400 billion nuclear weapons to produce the same amount of heat that the sun produces in just 1 second, and the sun has been doing this for at least 15 billion years according to the scientists themselves. Can the scientists replicate the sun, even for 1 second? This is evidence of God

·         The sun always rises and sets on time, and the seasons come and go on time. Is this by chance? This is evidence of God

·         The legs of trillions of living beings, including humans are 100% of the same length. Is this by chance? This is evidence of God

·         Why is there a variety of living beings? Can a manufacturing company produce anything without the input from a person? This is evidence of God

·         Every human face is unique, is this by chance? Can a manufacturing company produce unique products without any input from a person? This is evidence of God

·         The human body is symmetrical (both halves are 100% same). Is this by chance? This is evidence of God

·         Why doesn’t the donkey think like a human and vice versa? This is evidence of God

·         If you throw some bricks on the ground, will they form into a house? Without a spiritual being, the bricks cannot be formed into anything. Do the atoms combine to form certain molecules by chance? No. It’s Krishna (God) who is present in every atom who combines the atoms to form specific molecules

“Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being – moving or nonmoving – that can exist without Me.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 10.39)

“With a single fragment of Myself I pervade and support this entire universe.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 10.42)

Some people shout that God is great but they have absolutely no idea how great He is. Lord Krishna maintains the millions of universes in the material creation with just one particle of Himself. This is how great Lord Krishna (God) is.

Some facts to help you realize the existence of God.

a.    A barber says there is no God, because if there were a God then there would be no poverty, disease, and suffering. There are many long haired and unshaven people. Does this mean that there are no barbers? The barber agrees that there are long haired and unshaven people, but the problem is that they don’t go to him. In a similar way, people don’t approach God nor do they follow His teachings and thus there is material existence with poverty, disease, and suffering.

b.    A doctor says there is no God, because if there were a God then there would be no poverty, and suffering. There are many diseased people everywhere in the world. Does this mean there are no doctors? The doctor agrees that there are many diseased people in the world, but the problem is that they don’t go to a doctor. In a similar way, people don’t approach God nor do they follow His teachings and thus there is poverty, and suffering.

c.    A painter says there is no God, because if there were a God then there would be no poverty, disease, and suffering in the world. There are many unpainted buildings in the world, does this mean there are no painters? People can have their home painted but they need to find a painter. In a similar way, there is a God, but people need to look for Him.

d.    A banker says there is no God, because if there were a God then there would be no murders in the world. There are many people living in poverty. Does this mean there are no banks full of money? Why don’t the banks give out loans to all the poor? The banker says, we can only give to those who are qualified. In a similar way, there is a God, but only those who are qualified, will know Him.

e.    An Optician says there is no God, because I haven’t seen Him. There are millions who cannot see properly. Does this mean there are no Opticians? The optician says, we can only help those who approach us. In a similar way, God will eventually be seen, face to Face, by those who approach Him.

f.     A person living in the desert says he believes in God but He must be formless, because nobody around here has seen Him. Can anyone see waterfalls in the desert? No? Does this mean there are no waterfalls? In a similar way, God has a form but He cannot be Seen in places where even the animals cannot be seen.

g.    A person says nobody has seen God, and thus there is no God. Have you seen what the 7 billion people in the world today and the zillions who lived in the past have seen? No? So how can you say nobody has seen God?

h.    A pilot says there is no God, because I have not seen him. There are millions of people who have never flown in an airplane. Does this mean there are no pilots? The pilot says I can only take those who book through the airline company. In a similar way, God can only be known by those who approach a representative of God, a genuine spiritual master.

i.      A medical college professor says there is no God, because he hasn’t seen Him. There are millions who have never seen a medical college. Does this mean there are no medical colleges? The professor says only the most intelligent are qualified to see and attend a medical college. In a similar way, only the most intelligent can See and understand God.

j.     A sports personality says there is no God, because I have not seen God perform. There are millions who cannot perform. Does this mean that there are no sports? The sports personality says it takes time, effort, and luck to perform well and become a sports personality. In a similar way, it takes time, effort, and the will of God to know Him.

k.    A cleaner says there is no God, because if there were a God then there would be no chaos in the world. There are many dirty places in the world, does this mean there are no cleaners? The cleaner says we do clean but people keep messing up. In a similar way, God created a perfect world, but people keep messing it up.

l.      A blind person says there is no God, because he cannot seem Him. He cannot see anyone, does this mean nobody is existing?

m.  An atheists says I won’t believe in God unless He appears in front of me. A pig in Africa is saying he doesn’t believe in the existence of human beings, unless he sees the President of America, face to face. Will the President waste his time to visit a pig? In a similar way, God is not so cheap. Only those who are qualified can See Him face to Face. Millions have already Seen Him, and you can also, but first you need to become qualified and look for Him. You will only find Him in the Vedic scriptures. There are trillions of living beings, why should God visit you?

n.    A person says he can’t find the description of God in the scriptures he has read, and thus God is indescribable. If you want learn to construct buildings then you have to read books on engineering and not books on cake making. In a similar way, if you want to know God then you have to read the Vedic scriptures, the only scriptures where God is fully described.

Preach

Please Preach Sanatan-Dharma Values and Save Humanity

Vedic culture means no killing, no slavery, no hatred, no aggressors, no wickedness, no exploitation, universal brotherhood, freedom of religion/speech/thought, and full knowledge of God.

Non-Vedic culture means killing, slavery, hatred, aggressors, wickedness, exploitation,  no universal brotherhood, no freedom of religion/speech/thought, and unknown God (godlessness).

It is very important to learn yourself and then teach the philosophy of the Eternal Religion (Sanatan-Dharma) to your children and others. By not teaching the Vedic values to others, humans become degraded into following non-Vedic cultures. Thus become killers, slavers, haters, aggressive, wicked, exploiters, narrow minded, and Godless.

Real Religion is Eternal with a Real God

Sanatan-Dharma is the only religion that is universal, eternal, with a real, seen, and proven God, and personal service to God with Deity worship. Unfortunately due to lack of preaching it has diminished and the other religions which are not eternal, not universal, and with God completely unknown, unseen, and unknowable are flourishing due to preaching. Using a strategy of false hopes, false knowledge, and instilling fear of hell if they didn’t follow. Those who are intelligent will see the truth and realize that God is real, seen, proven, and eternal. His religion is also eternal, Sanatan-Dharma.

What You Can Do to Promote the Real Religion

Please download unique charts/posters with Vedic knowledge and distribute them to others and help promote the truth. If you have created your own posters, which are unique and potent, please send to EternalReligion.org and these will be distributed to others.

Email: info [-@-] eternalreligion.org  (remove the ‘[]-‘)

I have printed and placed these charts in 6 Temples and will place them in more Temples this year. Please do the same and help to promote the truth, Sanatan-Dharma.  If you wish, you can also let me know where you place them, for my record and to inspire others.

Location of Charts/Posters:

Go to the folders within the above link, open the files and right click mouse and choose ‘Save page as’ to download the pdf files. Have the pdf files printed in color, place in picture frame, hang on wall, and help spread the truth.

I will place more charts in this folder, as I create them.

Temples Must Use Walls to Preach

The walls are there, why keep them empty? Everything is Krishna’s  energy (Bhagavad-Gita 9.10), including the walls. Use His walls for preaching His instructions, mainly the Bhagavad-Gita.

iskcon_phoenixSloka Plate 01This is an ISKCON Temple in Gujarat. I placed Bhagavad-Gita verses on plates in Gujarati and English. People cannot miss them as they are at the entrance. People do read them and benefit. On a single day at least a few hundred people read these verses and thousands during festivals. We have to do our work, provide the knowledge and then leave the result of whether people become serious devotees or not to Lord Krishna.
This is a picture of me at ISKCON Phoenix with some of the my posters in the back. Using the walls to spread Vedic values does work and so why waste the space?

Preaching is the Highest Bhakti

“For one who explains the supreme secret to the devotees, devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end he will come back to Me. There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.68-69)

“One who liberally imparts these instructions to My devotees is the bestower of the Absolute Truth, and to him I give My very self. (Lord Krishna, Uddhava Gita 23.26 (Chapter titled ‘Bhakti-Yoga’))

Many ISKCON and non-ISKCON Temples around the world are using the preaching material created by EternalReligion.org. Please give up your personal false ego and join them for the benefit of Sanatan-Dharma and humanity.

All Temples Must Distribute Vedic Knowledge Material

Temples can create their own booklets provided it’s written by knowledgeable and practicing Vedic followers or they can simply take the booklet files created by EternalReligion.org and other genuine Vedic sites, and get them printed and then distribute.  Or EternalReligion.org can send you the printed booklets and book, and you just pay the cost.

The Temples should use the money donated by the public to benefit the public and not misuse it by doing nothing to help elevate the public. Providing a place for people to just come, bow down and go home, is not good enough these days. Knowledge is very important. Lord Krishna in His form as Ved Vasya compiled millions of verses in the Vedic scriptures. He didn’t do this for His own pleasure. He did this for us, so we can learn and become elevated via knowledge.

The founder of ISKCON, His Divine Grace Swami Srila Prabhupada wrote more than 80 books, so that people will read and learn something. Knowledge distribution was his important instruction. We also have to preach appropriately using the appropriate material according to the audience, time, place, and circumstances.

Today the people are much degraded than 50 years ago and thus new preaching methods and materials have to be developed and used. We can’t give all patients the same old medicine, use the latest medicine. The old medicine will not work for new diseases. The newest diseases among the humans is complex mentalities, constant meditation on social media sites and constant hearing of cell phones. Basically people have surrendered to their senses instead of the master of the senses, Rishikesh (Lord Krishna).

Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita (18.68-69) very clearly mentions anyone who ‘explains’ the Gita is His best servant. The explaining has to be done according to the audience, time, place, and circumstances. This can and should be done without deviation from the original message of the Gita and the teachings of the Vedic saints.

People now days have complex and variety of mentalities. A variety  of preaching has to be deployed to make everyone understand the truth.

“Although God is one, sages have described Him in different manners. For this reason, one may not be able to gain a complete understanding of God from one ordinary spiritual master.” (Lord Krishna, Uddhava-Gita 3.31)

People have to learn from Gurus on a regular basis by listening to their Kathas. Thus all Temples must have regular Kathas by genuine Gurus. If too few people come, it’s because people have gone to Temples many times and  learned nothing and so they now don’t bother going to Temples. It’s not their fault. The Temples will have to work hard to bring back the people.

“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.34)

He Passed Away

He Passed Away

When a person dies, we say ‘he passed away’. The body is right in front of us, but still we say ‘he passed away’. This implies there are 2 entities, the ‘body’ and the ‘he’. The ‘he’ is the soul, the real person.

This is the first teaching from the Bhagavad-Gita, the real ‘he’ is the soul and not the body. The ‘he’  has always existed and will always exist.

“Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.12)

He has passed away, where to?

To another body.

“As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.13)

What Illuminates the Body with Consciouness?

It is the soul which illuminates the whole body with consciousness. When he passes away (the soul leaves the body), the body instantly losses the consciousness and becomes dead matter.

“That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.17)

We (the soul) are Eternal

The body dies but ‘he’, the soul, never dies, ‘he’ passes away to another body.

“For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.20)

The fundamental Law of Physics: Energy cannot be destroyed, but it can change forms.

We (the soul) are the energy and the body is the form. When we leave (pass away) from this body (our current form), we change to another form, another body.

“As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.22)

Nobody can destroy the real us (the soul)

God has made us (the soul) indestructable.

“The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind. This individual soul is unbreakable and insoluble, and can be neither burned nor dried. He is everlasting, present everywhere, unchangeable, immovable and eternally the same. It is said that the soul is invisible, inconceivable and immutable. Knowing this, you should not grieve for the body.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.23-25)

When is the Day of Judgement?

Immediately at death.

Some people believe that the Day of Judgment is someday in the future. Why should God keep the dead waiting?

At death, the ‘he’ is judged based on the actions taken in his life (karma) and then ‘he passes away’ to another body. Death simply means he (the soul) has passed away to another body.

Some people believe that the dead body will rise again someday in the future (resurrection). Anyone with some basic science knowledge will understand that the body is dead matter and within a few months of death, the body will decay and disintegrate and eventually turn to dust. From dust the body is made and to dust the body will return. The dead body will never rise again, because nothing will be left due to decay. If God can give us this body then He can certainly also give us another body.  He does not need to make the dead matter (the body) useable again. The Laws of science and the ways of God are completely compatible based on the Vedic teachings.

The fundamental Laws of Physics is that what has a beginning will have an end. What is made of matter will eventually be destroyed due to decay, caused by time. The body has a beginning and it’s made of matter, thus based on scientific logic, the body will be destroyed.

Those bodies which are buried will never rise again, but the souls who once occupied those bodies are alive and well today and will always be alive, but in different bodies.

“One who has taken his birth is sure to die, and after death one is sure to take birth again. Therefore, in the unavoidable discharge of your duty, you should not lament.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.27)

Sure, we will miss those who pass away, but we have to accept the fact that nobody can stay in the same body forever. Also as the body ages, it becomes more diseased and thus harder for the soul inside to live a quality life. Old and diseased people find it hard to eat, digest food, walk, sleep, sit, breath, talk, stand-up, and so on. Thus it’s better for them if they were to get another body.

“O descendant of Bharata, he who dwells in the body can never be slain. Therefore you need not grieve for any living being.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.30)

We should not lament for those who pass away, because they could be better situated in their new body and they may have gone back to the spiritual creation called Vaikuntha, the ultimate destination for all souls. On the millions of Vaikuntha planets, the people live eternally in the same body that is completely beautiful, in complete bliss, full of knowledge, and with no old age, no disease, and no trace of any misery.  Based on Lord Krishna, nobody is sent to hell forever, eventually every soul goes back to the kingdom of God, Vaikuntha. This is because, Lord Krishna (God) is most Merciful and Forgiving.

Very Fortunate To Be A Hindu

VERY FORTUNATE TO BE A HINDU

Did you know that the followers of Lord Krishna have never made human beings into slaves?

Did you know that the followers of Lord Krishna believe in universal brotherhood, all living beings are brothers/sisters?

Did you know that the land where Lord Krishna appears (Bharat) has never attacked another nation?

Did you know that the followers of Lord Krishna have never stolen land belonging to others?

Did you know that the followers of Lord Krishna have never engaged in terrorism in His name nor His teachings (The Bhagavad-Gita)?

Did you know that in the land of Lord Krishna (Bharat), there is freedom of religion, speech and thought?

Did you know that the followers of Lord Krishna are even against the killing of animals?

Did you know that Lord Krishna has appeared more than 18,000 times in His original form and not just once?

Did you know that Lord Krishna proved His divinity in each and every one of His appearances?

Did you know that Lord Krishna actually saved His followers in this very life?

Did you know that there are more than 800,000 verses in the scriptures of Bharat, compiled by Lord Krishna Himself?

Did you know that God is only described in the scriptures of Bharat?

Did you know that the religion of Bharat is Eternal, that why it’s called Sanatan-Dharma (Eternal Religion)?

Did you know that Sanatan-Dharma has a policy of ‘Question Everything’ without fear?

Can those who don’t follow Lord Krishna, match even one of the above?

“Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates, and although I am the Lord of all living entities, I still appear in every millennium in My original transcendental form.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.6)

“The whole cosmic order is under me. By my will it is manifested again and again, and by my will it is annihilated at the end” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.8)

“Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being, moving or unmoving, that can exist without me” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 10.39)

“I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 10.8)

“Of all that is material and all that is spiritual in this world, know for certain that I am both the origin and the dissolution” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 7.6)

“The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Fearlessness; purification of one’s existence; cultivation of spiritual knowledge; charity; self-control; performance of sacrifice; study of the Vedas; austerity; simplicity; nonviolence; truthfulness; freedom from anger; renunciation; tranquility; aversion to faultfinding; compassion for all living entities; freedom from covetousness; gentleness; modesty; steady determination; vigor; forgiveness; fortitude; cleanliness; and freedom from envy and from the passion for honor – these transcendental qualities, O son of Bharata, belong to godly men endowed with divine nature.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 16.1-3)

“Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend. Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.65-66)

What is Maya?

What is Maya?

Maya has 2 completely different meanings. The first is mercy or compassion. The second is illusion. Here we will focus on the latter meaning, which is the default meaning of maya.

The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 15.7)

Maya is one of the energies of Lord Krishna and this energy is the fundamental basis of the material creation or material existence. Without this illusionary energy, there would be no purpose to material existence. Every living being in the material creation is in maya, meaning in illusion, but some are more in illusion than others. This illusion is basically the thinking “I and Mine”. Here are some examples to help you understand this.

Table 1 – Mentality under maya (illusion)

I am this bodyI am the bestI am the most intelligentI am the most educatedI am the most beautifulI own thisI am the richestMy spouse is the bestMy way is the bestMy country is the bestMy religion is the bestMy house is the bestMy product is the bestMy body is the bestIt’s mine, not yoursIt’s mine onlyIt’s for my use onlyIt’s my lifeIt’ my wayIt’s my property

In reality all the above is an illusion and false, because for example, “I am beautiful” is false, because for how long can one stay beautiful? With the progress of time, there is decay and the beauty is lost, thus one can never truly be ‘beautiful’ permanently. “I am rich”, at the time of death, everything is lost and thus one can never be truly rich. Even in this life, many rich people do lose it all. “I am this body”, for how long? At most 100 years then the body is gone, but you (the soul) still exist, thus you were never the body.

“Deluded by the three modes [goodness, passion and ignorance], the whole world does not know Me, who am above the modes and inexhaustible.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 7.13)

The maya (illusion), is in the form of mentalities and has three gears or modes.

Gear/Mode of Material ExistenceSymptoms (mentality developed)Result
1 – GoodnessGood actions – I want to feed the poor, help those who are in need. I will speak the truth. I love and respect all. Eating animals is foul. I only eat freshly cooked food.Repeated birth and death in the human species in reasonable families to enjoy the fruits of good actions.
2 – PassionMaterialistic or Passionate – I want go here and there and this will make me happy. I want a million and this will solve all my problems. A big house will make me very happy. I have respect for those who are rich. Eating animals is ok. Frozen food is ok. So on..Repeated birth and death in the human species among those who are materialistic with variety of miseries.
3 – IgnoranceCorrupt mentality – Eating animals is good. Frozen, un-fresh, and processed food is good. I hate those who don’t follow my way. I look good with hair on my face. We are visible and God is not like us, thus He must be invisible So on..Repeated birth and death among degraded human beings and eventually in the plant and animal kingdoms.

“Nature is said to be the cause of all material causes and effects, whereas the living entity is the cause of the various sufferings and enjoyments in this world. The living entity in material nature thus follows the ways of life, enjoying the three modes of nature. This is due to his association with that material nature. Thus he meets with good and evil among various species.“ (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 13-21.22)

Being in goodness is certainly better than passion and ignorance, but still there is repeated birth and death. Those who want to live eternally in the same body with no misery will strive to go beyond the mode of goodness and go back to the spiritual creation, the abode of Lord Krishna (God). Since this illusionary energy comes from Lord Krishna, it can only be overcome if one surrenders unto Lord Krishna by engaging in Bhakti devotional service) unto Lord Krishna.

“This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 7.14)

Someone asked me how is it that some children become corrupt and some don’t, even though all parents teach their children to be good. This is answered by Lord Krishna in the above verse. Teaching moral values to children is certainly good and MUST be done, but without engaging in Bhakti unto Lord Krishna, the morality will not last long. Due to maya, the very strong illusionary force of material existence, which will make one think as outlined in table 1. Even many devotees become influenced by maya (come under maya) in some minor ways, many times. Due to bad association or lack of constant good association.

The mode of passion and ignorance is more contagious than any disease. If one associates with those in these modes, they will become one of them easily.

The solution to all problems of material existence is to live in the mode of goodness and engage in devotional service unto Lord Krishna. Then at death, the soul is immediately transferred to the spiritual creation, where one can live eternally in the same body that is completely beautiful, in complete bliss, full of knowledge, and with no trace of any misery.

“Thus practicing constant control of the body, mind and activities, the mystic transcendentalist, his mind regulated, attains to the kingdom of God [or the abode of Kṛṣṇa] by cessation of material existence.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 6.15)

“Yet there is another unmanifest nature, which is eternal and is transcendental to this manifested and unmanifested matter. It is supreme and is never annihilated. When all in this world is annihilated, that part remains as it is. That which the Vedāntists describe as unmanifest and infallible, that which is known as the supreme destination, that place from which, having attained it, one never returns – that is My supreme abode.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 8.20-21)

Five Qualities of a Speaker of Srimad-Bhagavatam

Five Qualities of a Speaker of Srimad Bhagavatam

Bhagavann matih anapekshah suhrido

Deeneshu sānukampoyam yah

Bahudhā bodhan caturah,

Vaktā sammānito munibhih

This verse appears in the section of Bhāgavat Mahātamya in Skanda Puran.

Suta Gosvami is narrating the importance of Srimad Bhagavatam to all the Sages headed by Sage Saunaka at Naimisharanya. During the narration he has mentioned the qualities of a speaker and the four superior categories s and four inferior categories of listeners of Srimad Bhagvatam.

The most important quality of the Speaker should be that He is Krishnārthi ,meaning that He only desires to speak about Sri Krishna. The only qualification of a Listener is that he is also Krishnārthi, only eager to hear about Sri Krishna. When both these conditions are met then the Krishna Katha does not remain a katha rather it becomes a powerful medium that enables both the listener and the speaker to enter in to the Divine Pastimes of Sri Krishna.

While elaborating on this topic, Sri Suta Gosvami mentions the following Five Qualifications of the Speaker of Srimad Bhagavatam:

  1. Bhagavan Matih : The foremost and the the most important quality of the Speaker has to be Bhagavan matih , meaning his mind (matih) should always reside in the thoughts of Bhagawan Sri Krishna and absolutely nothing else.

If his mind is on money, followers, praises or any other worldly topics then the speaker is not qualified. Such a speaker will only waste the time and delude the minds of the listener to worldly topics, under the pretext of telling Krishna Katha.

  1. Anapekshah : This means that The Speaker of Srimad Bhagavatam does not desire anything in return after speaking on topics of Krishna Katha. He speaks for the joy of reciting the Divine Pastimes of the Lord. The Joy itself makes him narrate the pastimes with intense fervor of devotion. He does not recite the Srimad Bhagavatam for any material remuneration, or to display his scholarly erudition.
  1. Suhridah : Meaning – Friendly to all. This quality is the nature of the of a true Vaishnava. He considers everyone as his own because he knows that everyone has come from his Beloved, Sri Krishna. Therefore a Vaishnava considers everyone as his friend. With this feeling of oneness with all, he happily recites Krishna katha, everywhere he goes.
  1. Deeneshu Sanukampoyam yah : Meaning- He who is extremely compassionate toward the poor, lowly and those living in pitiable conditions. A Vaishnava will naturally be more compassionate because he considers everyone as a part of his Vaishnava family. He is always thinking of helping everyone to bring them out of there pitiable conditions. He knows the easiest way to remove miseries from the lives of people is to remind them of their eternal relationship with Sri Krishna. The suffering of living beings can be immediately removed by narrating Krishna Katha. So, the Speaker of Srimad Bhagavatam is always more eager to talk about Sri Krishna amongst these people.
  1. Bahudha bodhan caturah : The Speaker of Srimad Bhagvatam should be expert in other Vedic Scriptures and Schools of Philosophy. He should be well versed in Ramayana Mahabharata, Narada Bhakti sutras and other Vaishnava literatures.

If the Speaker has all the above mentioned qualities, then he is respected by all the great Munis and Saints. Whenever he recites the Srimad Bhagavatam, his katha is definitely attended by all the twelve great Vaishnavas like Sukadeva, Suta Gosvami , Parashar, Vibhisana, Pundarika, Bheesma and also other great Saints and Sages in subtle bodies.

  1. Chātaka : This is a type of bird which has a very unique nature. It makes a sound “pyāon pyāon” meaning “give me water , give me water”. It keeps calling the clouds for water. It eagerly waits for the swati constellation, because it only drinks the raindrops that fall during that constellation. Even if someone tries to offer it the most sacred ganges water, this bird will not drink it. It will rather die than drink any other types of water.

The devotees of this category are always eager to hear Krishna Katha. They are eager and thirsty to hear only and only about their Beloved Sri Krishna’s nectarean pastimes. If someone tells them that to listen to some Katha on any other topics that are not related to Lord Sri Krishna, then these devotees reject it. They would prefer dying remembering Krishna’s names than hearing any mundane topic.

  1. Hansa Bird or Swan : The Hansa is gifted with the ability to separate milk mixed in water. This quality signifies that it can separate the essence from non-essence in a mixture.

Devotees of this category know how to derive the essence of the Katha.

Nowadays, many speakers speak on the Srimad Bhagavatam. These programs are usually arranged by people in modes of passion and ignorance. The Speaker, also does these programs for money. They try to make the program interesting by speaking worldly stuff during the Bhagvatam Katha. The entire program has some stories on Krishna, some bhajans on bollywood tunes and worst, the bhajans are not even written & composed by Saints. These kind of Srimad Bhagavatam Recital programs are entirely in the mode of ignorance and passion, because the purpose is not to please Krishna, but to please the Organizers and Sponsors.

A devotee of Hansa category knows that the essence of Krishna Katha is that it will inspire you to surrender at the Lotus feet of the Lord. The devotee listens to the Katha with rapt attention, he separates the most essential gist of the Katha from the rest of the worldly talks and gets involved in chanting with rigorous intensity and lives his life only to serve and please Sri Krishna.

  1. śuka or Parrot : śuka or parrot has the quality of learning words and repeating them     as it is, in a very sweet voice. The Devotee in this category listens to Krishna Katha very attentively and whenever he tells it to someone he repeats the Katha as it is, without any adulteration. His recitation is filled with sweetness of the joy that he feels by thinking of Sri Krishna.

The Devotee in this category represents The Ideal Disciple, for he can maintain the continuation of pure knowledge as imparted by the Teacher. The Speaker of Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Sukadeva Goswami is named thus, as he has sung the Bhagavatam in the same manner as he received it from Srila Vyāsdeva.

  1. Meena or Fish: Fish cannot survive without water. It also cannot survive in muddy waters.

The Devotee in this category loves to hear Krishna Katha so much, that he feels that he will lose his life energy, if he doesn’t get to hear about Sri Krishna’s pastimes. He doesn’t lose the thought of Sri Krishna even momentarily.

Similarly, if a devotee of this category is put into a company of materialists, He feels suffocated just like the fish in muddy water. It becomes difficult for him to deal with worldly talks and worldly people. He only prefers to associate with other like minded Krishna Devotees who support his pure mind to always swim in the nectarean ocean of Krishna Katha.

In Summary, the four qualities of top category of listeners are :

  1. Hankering for Krishna Katha like the Chātaka bird.

2.Wisdom to take only the essence of the Krishna Katha like the Hansa bird.

  1. Attentiveness, Memorization and Repeating Krishna Katha as it is, just like the śuka.
  2. Love for Krishna Katha just like the Fishs love for water.

The Lower Categories of Listeners are also of Four types:

  1. Vrika or the Wolf : These kind of listeners do not have much interest in spiritual topics. They come late to the Katha. They go through the crowd, sit in the front, talk unnecessarily, sometimes argue and create nuisance throughout the Katha.
  1. Bhurunda bird: This is a kind of bird which lives in the Himalayas. It listens to the topics discussed amongst the Sages. It goes and preaches these things to others, but it doesn’t practice anything for himself. These kind of listeners talk on spiritual topics as if they know everything, but they never indulge into actual spiritual practice.
  1. Vriśhabha or Bull : These types of listeners only care about the Prasā They do not want to hear anything on spiritual topics, but will come with family and friends just to eat the prasādam. Food is the only thing that matters to them.
  1. Unśtra or Camel : The Camel has a habit of chewing leaves with thorns. It relishes the taste of blood while chewing this way. The listeners of this category hear the Katha but they get inspired only by the negative characters of the Katha. For example, if they hear Mahābhārat Katha , they will get inspired by Shakuni and his love for his sister Gāndhā Or, they may only talk about Krishna’s rasa-lila in a perverted manner and so on.

The Qualities of Saintly Persons

“The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: O Uddhava, a saintly person is merciful and never injures others. Even if others are aggressive he is tolerant and forgiving toward all living entities. His strength and meaning in life come from the truth itself, he is free from all envy and jealousy, and his mind is equal in material happiness and distress. Thus, he dedicates his time to work for the welfare of all others. His intelligence is never bewildered by material desires, and he has controlled his senses. His behavior is always pleasing, never harsh and always exemplary, and he is free from possessiveness. He never endeavors in ordinary, worldly activities, and he strictly controls his eating. He therefore always remains peaceful and steady. A saintly person is thoughtful and accepts Me as his only shelter. Such a person is very cautious in the execution of his duties and is never subject to superficial transformations, because he is steady and noble, even in a distressing situation. He has conquered over the six material qualities—namely hunger, thirst, lamentation, illusion, old age and death. He is free from all desire for prestige and offers honor to others. He is expert in reviving the Krsna consciousness of others and therefore never cheats anyone. Rather, he is a well-wishing friend to all, being most merciful. Such a saintly person must be considered the most learned of men. He perfectly understands that the ordinary religious duties prescribed by Me in various Vedic scriptures possess favorable qualities that purify the performer, and he knows that neglect of such duties constitutes a discrepancy in one’s life. Having taken complete shelter at My lotus feet, however, a saintly person ultimately renounces such ordinary religious duties and worships Me alone. He is thus considered to be the best among all living entities.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 11.11.29-32)

“The symptoms of a sadhu are that he is tolerant, merciful and friendly to all living entities. He has no enemies, he is peaceful, he abides by the scriptures, and all his characteristics are sublime.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.25)

“A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind’s demands, the actions of anger and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world.”  (Nectar of Instruction 1)

Thus by Vedic standards, someone who engages in any form of violence towards any living being, deception, theft, lust, or materialistic, can never be called a saintly person. Only those who possess the above saintly qualities can be accepted as a genuine Swami/Guru or Prophet of God. One should only hear and learn religious values from saintly persons.

God Does Appear

God Does Appear

Does any property owner never visits his properties?

Does any King never visits his kingdom?

Does any President/Prime Minister of a country, never visits places in his country?

Does any father/mother never visits his/her children?

In a similar way, the Supreme property owner, the Supreme King, the Supreme President, the Supreme Father, does visit His creations. There is only one religion where God is known to have appeared and performed His miraculous pastimes. Not just once, but millions of times. This religion is Sanatan-Dharma, the Eternal Religion. All other religions are not Sanatan (eternal) and they have absolutely no idea on His appearances and His description.

“Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates, and although I am the Lord of all living entities, I still appear in every millennium in My original transcendental form.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.6)

In this verse the word ‘millennium’ means one daytime of Brahma. There is no word in the English dictionary to describe such a period of time and thus the word ‘millennium’ is used as best fit. Lord Krishna appears in His original Krishna form, once in every daytime of Brahma. One day (24 hours) of Brahma is 8.64 billion years. Thus Lord Krishna appears once in every 8.64 billion years.

The appearance of Lord Krishna in His original form is also confirmed in the Caitanya-caritamrta.

“Once in a day of Brahma, he descends to this world to manifest his transcendental pastimes.” (Caitanya-caritamrta Adi-Lila 3.6)

God is Unborn?

God is not born like us through the womb of a mother. We come out from the womb of a mother and we are naked. When Lord Krishna appeared 5000 years ago. He just appeared next to a women and He was fully clothed. This is one of the differences between us and God. We come out from the womb of a mother and are naked, but He just appears and is fully clothed. Also He does not go through old age, disease, and misery like us. In this sense, God is unborn.

Today was Mother’s day and I saw many Christians stand at cemeteries where their mothers are buried. It is very nice of them to think of their mothers, but unfortunately due to their religion. They think that their mother will be resurrected from the grave one day in the future in the same body she died, that day is called the day of judgement.  They do not realize that she has ‘passed away’. Where has she passed away to?  another body. This teaching is unique to the Bhagavad-Gita and it comes directly from God, Lord Krishna.

At death the body is useless, it will never come back to life again as the Christian and Muslims believe. Within  a few months the dead body decays and goes back to dust, where the body originates. But the real person, the soul is not dead. The soul is eternal and it transmigrates to another body at death of the body. We are the eternal soul and not the temporary body.

Someone wanted to know how to use the Gita to address practical issues in life. By learning the Gita, we will learn to deal with all issues in life. By regular study of the Bhagavad-Gita and other Vedic scriptures one will slowly realize the Gita and will be able to address all issues in life without thinking (no brainer). But it takes a lot of time and effort to achieve this. Just like to become a surgeon, it takes over 12 years of study and training after high school, then the surgeon can handle any surgery. He will know exactly what to do in all cases. In a similar way, when one realizes the Gita, he will instantly know what to do in any situation.

To my knowledge there is no one book or one presentation that would help anyone to realize the whole Gita. My website is based on many presentations/articles to address many issues in life and I am adding more and more material every month. One has to learn from many Swamis/preachers and this is the only way to realize the Gita in truth and the quickest way possible. One will NEVER realize the whole truth by only learning from one Swami/Preacher/Group. For example, there are some who have read the Gita many times and perform Deity worship, and chant Vedic mantras but they don’t even know what a Vaishnava is. Reading and knowledge realization are 2 different things.

“If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.58)

If you learn the Gita at every opportunity, you will pass over all obstacles in life.

04JAN2016

“The sacrifice of knowledge is greater than the sacrifice of material possessions.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.33)
Why Being Open Minded is Important?
Being open minded is the only way for God realization and ultimately see God, face to Face, because God comes to those who’s doors are open (physically and mentally).
Physically – We have to be detached from sense of ownership. Nothing belongs to us. We came with our hands closed and we will leave with our hards wide open, we can’t even take some air with us.
Spiritually – Knowledge is unlimited, and thus we have to hear and learn from all. In the Uddhava-Gita, it mentions 24 Gurus which include some animals. So we can learn even from the animals. I will cover this in another email in the near future. We should also know the difference between God and Guru, we should never worship a Guru as God and neglect God.

“Krsna who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Godhead. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin and He is the prime cause of all causes.” (Brahma Samita)
What is ignorance?
We will send our children to study to school/college without fail but we will not send them to spiritual knowledge programs unless they fail in life (have problems).
Who are the best educated?
Our degrees will enable us to earn an income so we can live and pay our bills in this short life, which is needed. But how will we survive after this short life? Those who prepare for the life after this life are the best educated.

What is the Cause of Degradation?

Lack of spiritual knowledge is the root that leads to degradation of society. From this root there are many branches which include lack of preaching and impurity.

While in Vrindavan, I saw acres of land owned by BIG Vaishnava groups, awaiting cementation.  Cows need raw land with grass and trees for their food, resting place, and survival. This knowledge is neglected or lacking. Everywhere I have seen cows eat plastic bags and garbage, because there is no grass left  There is no raw land for the grass to grow. The cows are forced to eat plastic and garbage and there is hardly anyone preaching this important knowledge to the public.

Please STOP destroying raw land, save land for grass, trees, cows, birds, monkeys, and people. Plant trees and grass in your gardens and give to cows to eat. Preach this to your local Mandir and everyone you know.

Succhi and Mucchi

Many people are fooled, they think that if the body and clothes are clean, the person is pure (Succhi), but what about the mind? If the mind is mucchi, then what is the value in the body being Succhi?

Mucchi means the person has ego, desires, materialistic, treats people badly, miserly and so on.. The Bhagavad-Gita very clearly gives a list of the qualities that makes a person real Succhi. Unfortunately people do not read nor follow the scriptures. A person should be judged based on their actions and qualities developed and not their label nor their physical appearance (clean clothes etc..). This is very clearly taught in the Bhagavad-Gita.

08DEC2015

Last Sunday I went to ISKCON Baroda and placed my unique posters and did a presentation. Today I placed a cows water drinking container at a Temple near our home here in Karamsad. Within 2 mins of placing the container, one passer by stated something like ‘This is good work’.
Bhakti is not just deity worship, chanting, fasting, and feasting. One has to do real service for the benefit of all living beings.
“Those who are beyond the dualities that arise from doubts, whose minds are engaged within, who are always busy working for the welfare of all living beings and who are free from all sins achieve liberation in the Supreme.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 5.25)

Cow treatment and well being directly affects human beings, because the 33 categories of demigods, comprising of millions, reside in the body of each and every cow. I am not too sure what this exactly means, but I do understand that basically if the cows are well treated, the demigods are pleased and they shower their blessings on human beings with good weather, good crops, good rains, and good health.
It’s very unfortunate that in India, everyone  has cement mentality, including Temples. Everywhere the trees are being chopped down, the grass is cut, the raw land is replaced with cement buildings. There is no consideration for the birds who feed on tree fruits and leaves, no consideration for the cows who need trees and grass for food and resting place. No consideration for the monkeys who need trees for their food and shelter. No consideration for the humans who can only eat fruits and vegetables and not bolts and cement. Trees and grass provide not only food for living beings but also clean air. In my unique book, ‘The Book of Life’. I very clearly mention all the practical applications of Bhagavad-Gita teachings, which include saving trees and raw land.

Go on vacation/outing to get fresh?
People normally visit places during holidays periods thinking that they will get a fresh mind by doing so. If they can change their consciousness for the better then it it good. If they can change their consciousness from materialistic to spiritualistic, it is good.
The fact is that in most cases, people become more materialistic, more contaminated, more attached, more bewildered, sink further into ignorance, and secure a guaranteed return to material life by going on outings.
Go where you can change your consciousness for your eternal benefit. Go where you can learn something that is for your eternal benefit. Go where you will learn to reduce your material contamination.
23NOV2015

Just as I was typing this message the lights went out. I had to re-start after the lights came back. In a similar way, our light (the soul) can leave  the body at any moment without notice, then it will re-start (another body) anywhere on the millions of planets in any one of the millions of universes, in any one of the 8.4 million species.

We actually all come from Vrindavan, from the spiritual manifestation and eventually all souls will go back to Vrindavan. The Bhagavad-Gita mentions  that all souls are part and parcel of Krishna, a part of Him. Since He is in Vrindavan, all His parts must also be in Vrindavan.

On my visit to Vrindavan, I fed the cows, devotees (everyone in Vrindavan should be considered a devotee), monkeys, and 1 pig. The whole purpose of pilgrimage is to change our consciousness for the better. Unfortunately most Hindus go on Pilgrimage and then head back home and they continue their sinful and ignorant life. They don’t change their mentality, they don’t give up their bad habits, they don’t give up sinful activities, they don’t give up their BIG bank balances, properties, and so on. People foolishly think visiting holy places is complete Bhakti. This is false, one has to change their consciousness for the better, this is real Bhakti. One does not need
to visit any holy place, because Krishna is everywhere and thus every place is holy once one realizes Krishna is everywhere. Going to holy places is certainly good and beneficial, but only for those who change their consciousness for the better. Not for those who only visit for the sake of visiting and as as outing to satisfy their flickering materialistic mentality.

The 3 most important changes that we need to make are as follows, This is the root of Bhakti, devotional service unto God. These are mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavatam as the legs of religion. Anyone who does not follow these is irreligious.

 1. Truthfulness

One must always speak the truth, stand up for the truth, and side with the truth.

2. Mercy

All living beings are brothers and sisters, and thus, one must be kind to all his brothers and sisters. This teaching is unique to Sanatan-Dharma, and it comes from the most merciful Person, Lord Krishna (God). Kindness to animals is practiced by not killing them (vegetarianism and no leather).  Kindness between human beings is practiced by being friendly and considerate to everyone. Consuming alcohol and drugs, gambling, and relationships outside of marriage cause suffering to families and especially to the women and children. Thus one should refrain from these sinful activities.

3. Charity

Donations should be made on a regular basis to accountable and worthy Temples, those engaged in the service of God, those engaged in preaching the Glories and Instructions of God, and the poor.

Happy Diwali
Lord Ram appeared 21 million years ago and still after this long time, people are celebrating His return from Lanka.  Truth alone lasts.
This Diwali, change yourself for the better. Going to the Temples is certainly good and important, but you must change your heart for the better.
– Eat sweets and also become sweater yourself. Treat everyone with sweetness.
– Wear new clothes and remove you old bad habits, bad thoughts, bad mentality, and wicked mentality.
– Burn lamps and your ego, pride, lust, and materialism.

– Spread the eternal truth, Sanatan-Dharma, to all and save others.

Human Devolution

The old way was the golden way, the modern way is the degraded way.

Until about 50 years ago, everyone used to live together in one village. Everyone from the father’s side in almost one village or very close by and everyone from the mother’s side also very close by, at most 1 hour away. Nowdays the children live in different countries/states, the brothers/sisters in different countires/states, even the parents in some cases live apart. Even in the same home, people communicate by text and iphone instead of by face to face, which has now been replaced with facebook. This is human devolution, the personal human touch is gone. The modern human beings are no better than the animals who also live apart once the children are grown up in most species. Money is the only focus of life for modern man. No personal rouch. When contacting the IRS, human resources of corporations, utility companies and most organizations. It’s all automated answering and keypad entires. The human touch is gone. This is devolution of human consciousness.

The food eaten by modern humans, sums up the fact that modern man is sinking in ignorance. Most peole live on food that is frozen and heated in a microwave, fresh food is rare. By eating frozen and unfresh food, the person is in ignorance and slowly sinks further into ignorance.

“Food prepared more than three hours before being eaten, food that is tasteless, decomposed and putrid, and food consisting of remnants and untouchable things is dear to those in the mode of darkness.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 17.10)

Even the poor in India eat food that is cooked within 3 hours of being cooked, because they do not have a fridge, which is a blessing. In the West, most people store food in a fridge and eat for months after. This is human devolution.

The logo for Subway is ‘Eat Fresh’. Please follow this.

21OCT2015

Follow what the scriptures teach and not what ignorant people do. Despite all the problems in India, Hinduism is still the purest of all religions, by far.  I know this because I have studied the history and scriptures of all other religions. The diffenence is that when one crime is commited in India, the atheist and anti-Hindu media explode it to make Hinduism look bad. There are thousand times more rapes commited in the coutnries of other religions, but nobody reports them.

“Humility; pridelessness; nonviolence; tolerance; simplicity; approaching a bona fide spiritual master; cleanliness; steadiness; self-control; renunciation of the objects of sense gratification; absence of false ego; the perception of the evil of birth, death, old age and disease; detachment; freedom from entanglement with children, wife, home and the rest; even-mindedness amid pleasant and unpleasant events; constant and unalloyed devotion to Me; aspiring to live in a solitary place; detachment from the general mass of people; accepting the importance of self-realization; and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth – all these I declare to be knowledge, and besides this whatever there may be is ignorance.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 13.8-12)

Also you should know that most of the rapes in India are NOT commited by Hindus, but by non-Hindus. So don’t blame Hinduism.

The Vedic scriptures very cleary state that women should never be harmed, not even slapped. The non-Vedic scriptures clearly advocate rape. This is the difference between Hinduism and other religions. The rapist and trouble makers in India are not following Hinduism but other cultures. So don’t blame Hinduism, but other cultures which are influencing the ignorant Hindus. We say ‘Radha and Krishna’ and not ‘Krishna and Radha’. The women’s name comes first, even before God. This is the treatment of women in Hinduism.

Why put all the blame on the God of Hinduism for all the trouble in the world, what about the God of other religions?

The fact is that God is One, and we have free will. It’s due to this free will that we can use it properly or misuse it. Lord Krishna has created an infallible justice system to ensure everyone who miuses free will be punished. This is the Law of Karma. In other religions they have no such belief, they believe it’s all by chance. They cannot explain why people suffer or enjoy, they cannot answer why different species exist and so on. Only the Vedic scriptures answer all questions and in detail. This is because the Vedic kowledge comes from God and not man.

Material existence means free will and thus Lord Krishna does not interfere with our free will. But He will punish those who misuse it. Not a blade of grass can move without the sanction of Lord Krishna, but this does not mean that nothing bad will happen, because we have free will. Due to this people will do bad things, but they do not realize that they cannot get away with it. They will be punished.

There are 8.4 million species of living beings and based on how the human being behaves, the soul will transmigrate from one species to another based on the deserves and desires. So nobody gets can get away with anything. Lord Krishna Himself is the witness to everything, because He is omnipresent, present in the heart of all living beings and also in every atom.

With regards to fake Gurus, yes this is true, but in reality there is a very good chance of knowing God from Vedic Gururs, there is ZERO chance of knowing God from non-Vedic Gurus. Also the Gurus of other religions are far worse than the Vedic Gurus. I know this, because I have studied others. The whole world Media is trying to promote non-Vedic religions and trying to destroy Hinduism, and thus so much false and misleading propaganda on Hinduism. Look before you leap, learn the facts and then decide. Don’t listen to the demonic Media, don’t accept everything you hear as the truth. Find out yourself.

Read, study, and follow the Bhagavad-Gita, there is no other scripture like it in the world. I know this because I have studied the scriptures of all other main religions. Hinduism is the only religion where there is a real, seen and proven God. It’s impossible to know God as a real Person from other religions.

“Ayam bandhurayam neti gananā laghuchetasām,
 Udāracharitānām tu vasudhaiva kutumbakam

“One is my brother and the other is not – is the thinking of a narrow-minded person. For those who are broad-minded, liberals, or noble people, the entire world is a one big family.” (Maha Upanishad: Chapter 6, Verse 72)

27AUG2015

In your present human form of life you are blessed with the rarest of all opportunities, the unlimitedly great good fortune of being able to awaken your original enlightened consciousness, your Krishna consciousness and thus regain your original, eternal identity in the pastimes of the Supreme Lord in His unfathomably sweet transcendental abode. Fully take advantage of this opportunity by totally and completely surrendering yourself under the representative of the Lord, the bona fide spiritual master. By so doing you will attain the supreme opulence, pure love of God. (Sankarshan Das Adhikari)

Humility is a very important quality for a preacher and for all

Humility is practised by exhibition and not just by saying it. I recently saw this humility exhibition in Devkinandan Maharaj. Meena gave him a book which has teachings of Lord Chaitanya and he used what he read in the book in his very first katha afterwards. This was as follows:

“We should consider ourselves lower than a blade of grass and give all respects to others and expect none in return.”

This also proves that book distribution does work. Some people do read, practice, and distribute the knowledge to others.

A preacher is open minded and is willing to listen and learn from others too. It’s not a one way street, a two way street. Knowledge should be given and also taken from others. There is nobody in the material creation (except for Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma) who has all knowledge. We are all in ignorance, some in more ignorance and some less. I have carefully studied and noticed that those outside the Vedic path are in complete ignorance.

I can very clearly see that people are suffering and enjoying due their past actions (Karma). Those outside the Vedic path, cannot see this, becuase they are in gross ignorance.

God is eternal and thus by now He must have appeared, declared, and proved Himself. Those outside the Vedic path believe in an invisible, formless, unknown, unseen, and unproven character in a book as God. They are in complete gross ignorance.

Q: Why does God allow animals to be killed and eaten by other animals?

A:

We have to think outside our tiny head and life to realize the truth.

Humans have free will and thus if human beings eat flesh then they will be put in bodies so they can enjoy flesh daily and naturally, in animal bodies. That’s why animal bodies exist, so that some souls can enjoy animalistic life due to their desires and deserves.

The souls in animal bodies are ex-humans, they were once in human bodies. Human beings who eat flesh will be put in animal bodies after this life or in the future lives.

God is most merciful and fair to all living beings. Kill and be killed, eat and be eaten, an eye for an eye, this is the infallible Law of Karma.

Yes it is sad to see animals being killed and eaten, but we cannot understand this unless we see the whole picture. If we knew the past of all the souls, we could clearly see and understand everything. It’s for our own good that we don’t know the past, otherwise our present life will be difficult to live. For example if one was murdered in their last life and could remember it, this life would be hellish. So it’s for our own good we don’t know the past of ourselves and others.

We have to accept everything that happens to us and others as what we deserve and desired.

There are many beggars on the street, we feel sad for them, but we know what they behaved badly and thus they became beggars. They deserve to be beggars, it’s due to their own doing that they are beggars. In a similar way the souls in animal bodies are suffering due to their own doing. The souls in human bodies are also suffering.

There are 8.4 million species or bodies that the soul can occupy, exactly based on its desires and deserves.

22JUL2015

The entire world civilization is increasing in chaos, which is gradually dragging the human beings to a position lower than the animals. The modern day political, educational, cultural and business leaders do not even have the slightest clue of how to solve the world’s problems. To the contrary they are instead leading the world into rapidly accelerating degradation.

Only by following Sanatan-Dharma, can the world be saved from degradation. Unfortunately most Vedic followers are only by name, because they do not follow the Vedic principles. One must follow the Vedic principles and spread them to others. All the Vedic principles are clearly explained on this unique web site.

Change Your Consciousness

The whole purpose of devotional service of reading, chanting, fasting, pilgrimage and so on is to change your consciousness for the better. If after doing all the devotional activites, one does not become a better human being, they have learnt nothing.

– Lower your ego
– Lower your desires
– Become more charitable
– Give up attachment to material objects
– Be kind to everyone
– Give up greed
– Share your possession with others
– Meditate on Krishna, serve Krishna, listen to Him (Bhagavad-Gita)
– Realiza that material life is temporary, so why get attached to worldly possessions, realize that there is eternal life after this body
– Think of the life after this one
– Prepare for the life after this one
– What have you done for others?
– What have you done for your country?
– What have you done for humanity?

Please focus on all the above.

Leave behind your anxiety, fear, hate, delusion, temporality, and illusion. Come on a fantastic, most exhilarating journey to your inner self situated far far beyond the constrictive, debilitating confines of time and space. Your inner self is who you really are. You are not the external covering, your temporary material body. You are an eternal, youthful, spiritual being qualitatively one with God. So come out of foolish misidentification with your outer shell and emerge as liberated soul overflowing with eternity, knowledge, and bliss.

You are the eternal part of Lord Krishna, the only proven God.

What is ignorance?

1. There are many parents who will spend more than $200,000 on making their children into lawyers, doctors, and engineers. They will also send them thousands miles away from home to other states and other countires.

How much will they spend on their children’s spiritual education? ZERO.

Even if there are spiritual education classes within walking distance from their homes, still they will not send.

2. Children will study more than 500 books in their education years. Will the Bhagavad-Gita be one of them? No.

3. Parents will buy their children iphones, xphones, yphones, mphones. So their children will spend all day looking at their devices, talking non-sense or playing non-sense games. Their whole consciousness is fixed on the devices. Waiting for that next call, waiting for that next text message, surfing the web to read who is doing what and so on.

Even in Temples and programs, children are completely hooked to the devices. They won’t put it down.

In the Bhagavad-Gita, Lord Krishna clearly states think of Me [Krishna], but the Gita of the children is ‘always think of the iphone/yphone/xphone’.

Lord Krishna states fix your mind on my transcendental form, but the Gita of the children is fixed your mind on the transcendental screen of the iphone/yphone/xphone.

4. Even most parents have their consciousness fixed on the phone screens all day. Some people say ‘I only have the iphone/xphone for emergency’. What emergency?

The real emergency is that life is short and we should not waste it on talking non-sense all day, texting non-sense all day, playing games all day, and fixing our mind on the silly iphone/xphone screens. Many of us have been wondering from one body to another for millions of life times, and to achieve a human birth is rare. To get a human birth in a Vedic family is extremely rare. Don’t waste it on silly devices. Fix your mind on Lord Krishna, and go back to Godhead at the end of this short life.

Even 5000 years ago, the yogis had more advanced technology than today. They had the ability to not just talk to someone thousands of miles away, but they could see and hear in real time what was going on thousands of miles away. Also many yogis could instantly transfer themselves thousands of miles away back and forth in an instant. But those who have some intelligence will realize that these abilities are completely useless, because they only lead to attachment to material life.

The real aim is to go back to the spiritual manisfestation and live eternally in complete bliss. This is something that can NEVER be achieved in the material creation.

11JUN2015

“In this material world all are lost souls wandering aimlessly birth after birth through the 8,400,000 different species of life. Sometimes they are demigods. Sometimes they are ordinary humans. Sometimes they are plants. Sometimes they are animals. In all cases they are out of touch with the actual meaning of their existence. Thus they must continue suffering in so many ways. Therefore the greatest necessity is that they should get the road map to eternal freedom, i.e. they should be taught the art of how to fully surrender themselves to Lord Sri Krishna. This and only this will liberate them from their suffering and enable to regain their original all-blissful consciousness.”

We must behave properly as mentioned in the Bhagavad-Gita and shown by great devotees like Hari Das and others. We should set good examples so others will follow our path of Bhakti.

It is very important to only accept teachings which are based on scriptural backing, otherwise it’s pure speculation.

Ignorance is the cause of irrligious ideologies.

What is the secret to knowledge realization?

By listening to only one Guru, one can never learn everything or realize everything. One must listen to many Gurus to get the most knowledge realization. Also one must pay the bills to keep the  services on, in a similar way, give some guru daxmin and the knowledge will be released to you.

The Bhagavad-Gita or any Vedic scripture compiled Ved Vyasa, does not mention any particular Guru or Group to follow. Thus one must respect all and disrespect none.  There are many who are narrow minded, don’t be one of them.

Leave your door open (welcome guests), this is an invitation for the best guest, Lord Krishna

Leave your mind open (not narrow minded), this is an invitation for more knowledge

Leave your heart open (be kind to all), this is an invitation for the divine qualities to manifest (humbleness, mercy, steadiness, equal vision)

Leave your wallet open (be charitable), this is invitation for wealth and practice of renunciation

What is Cement Mentality?

Everywhere in India, people are turning raw land with grass and trees into cement with buildings. Even the Temples, who are supposed to set good examples, are first in line to turn raw land into cement.

The raw land is needed for grass and trees, which is needed by the cows for eating and resting. The trees provide much needed shade, and absorb the bad gas, carbon dioxide. The trees and grass provide cool air, reduce the dust, reduce the pollution, provide a place for people to rest and relieve the stress of life, and provide much needed pure oxygen. Just the site of green grass and trees reduces the stress in humans. The birds, cows, monkeys, pigs, goats, and the humans, all very much need open land, grass, and trees.

The fools have lost it, no knowledge, no consideration for the enviornment, no consideration for the cows and other animals. No consideration for the future. Everything is based on money and temporary benefits.

In our house in India, we have around 15 trees, and green grass which is cut every 2 weeks and feed to the cows. Please do the same and ask others also.

STOP BUILDING, SAVE LAND, PLANT TREES, PLANT GRASS

10MAY2015

Another week gone, another week closer to our next body. If the car breaks down, we can fix it. If our heart breaks down, we cannot fix it.

Some people say “I need to kill time and thus I am playing with my iphone”. The truth is that time is killing us.
1. It was asked what happens if one does not make complete progress in self-realization in this life. We continue where we left off in the next life. At what age a person picks up from the previous life is not the same for everyone. Some are born into devotional service and some become devotees later in life. Some gradually progress and some directly progress to the service of the Supreme (maybe due to gradual progress in their previous life).
2. We have to be practical and not over work the body beyond it’s limits. Being charitable is most important, but this does not mean we give our house away and then beg. We have to maintain the body, our home, our children, our spouse, the elderly and so on.. We have to attend to guests and maintain our relationship with our friends and relatives to some degree. We cannot shut them off, just because they are not interested in the devotional path. We have to be merciful, tolerant, and forgiving. These are the qualities listed in the Bhagavad-Gita, that a devotee of Lord Krishna must develop to the highest level. By developing divine qualites, we will for sure at least influence some people and thus take them back to the spiritual abode of Lord Krishna.
“The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal, fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 15.7)

All souls are part and parcel of Lord Krishna, and He wants ALL of them back in the spiritual creation. This does not mean that the material creation will become vacant eventually, because souls are constantly falling from the spiritual creation. Eventually every single soul today in the material creation will go back to the spiritual creation, but there will be zillion to the power of zillion more souls who will fall into the material creation before then. There is traffic both ways, to and from the spiritual and the material creation.
The spiritual creation contains 75% of the living entities, the rest are in the material creation.

There are only 2 boats in the material creation, the boat of transcendental knowledge and the Titanic. Take your pick.

“In this world, there is nothing so sublime and pure as transcendental knowledge. Such knowledge is the mature fruit of all mysticism. And one who has achieved this enjoys the self within himself in due course of time.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.38)

06MAY2015

Yesterday we had the devotees from Mayapur over for parsadam and help with the TOVP project. Pure devotees take away a tiny fraction of our food and money and ALL our sins and attachments to the material world.  Not a bad deal.
The fact is we can’t take a dime with us, when we ‘Pass Away’.  Life insurance is of ZERO benefit for the person who takes it out.

At the airport security checks:

– Those with luggage (attachments) will will take longer to get cleared.
– Those with jewellery (major attachments) will be strip searched.
– Those with links to terror groups (bad association) will be detained for further checks.
– Those with court orders (sins) will be refused exit from the country.
– Those with no luggage, no jewellery, no links to terror groups, and no court orders, will quickly board the flight first.

The point is that we need to give up material attachments, bad association, and erase our sins, only then we can go back to the spiritual creation, Vaikuntha. If we have any material desires or attachments, we cannot board the flight to Vaikuntha,

21APR2015

Many times I think of all the great people who I knew and are not here anymore. I did give them my Bhagavad-Gita CDs, and so I hope they listened and are now benefitting from it. This is the best I could have done for them. We should all strive to give others something that will eternally benefit them and not materialistic items which are completely useless even within a few months in most cases.
We work hard to earn money and it’s very foolish to leave it all behind in a bank or properties, because we will become beggars or be born in poverty unless we are charitable in this life. Some people think ‘Oh my children will use it, so it’s ok’. If you could see your next birth in poverty, you would not leave a penny behind and give it all in charity. There are many cases when a rich father who was not charitable and leaves behind everyhting to his children and in his next life is a beggar child and he begs when he comes across a rich person (his own child of last life) and the rich person says “get lost”. This is a reality.
As Steve Jobs stated “Life is an intelligent design, nothing happens randomly”. A person is born in a particular  universe, on a particular planet, in a particular country, in a particular state, in a particular county, in a particular City, on a particular street, in a particular home, to a particular father and mother, exactly according to what the person deserves.
Donating to the poor, feeding the poor, and providing medical aid to the poor is certainly good, but the best charity is to give others spiritual knowledge, because this will free them from the cycle of birth, old age, disease, misery, and death.

“From the highest planet in the material world down to the lowest, all are places of misery wherein repeated birth and death take place. But one who attains to My abode, O son of Kunti, never takes birth again.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 8.16)

Preaching is the Most Essential Need of Today
I went to a Temple in Southern CA last Sunday and they accepted all my posters for placing on their walls. I am hoping that others can do the same for the benefit of everyone and Sanatan-Dharma. If you have poster/charts which you have created, please let me have them and I will also distribute them. If you don’t, then distribute what I have.
People are becoming more and more sinful everywhere in the World, purely due to lack of proper knowledge. I told the Temple President in Riverside that merely providing a place for people to come and bow down, put $ in the Arti and go home, is not good enough. People need knowledge and Temples must use all means to provide knowledge to all visitors. The walls are there, why not use them. He agreed.
“This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way. But in course of time the succession was broken, and therefore the science as it is appears to be lost.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.2)
Krishna Himself comes to give knowledge, and He also sends His devotees to places to deliver His knowledge. Only those are free from personal ego and pride, will realize and accept the advice of visiting devotees.

Why bother with Bhakti (devotional service)/Religion?

Someone told me why bother with Bhakti, we suffer anyway. The atheists suffer and so do the devotees, so why bother with religion/Bhakti?

Yes the devotees also suffer from material life in the same way that the atheists suffer. But the difference is that for the devotees this will be the last birth in the material creation. At the end of this short life, the devotees go back to the Kingdom of God, called Vaikuntha and live eternally in the same body that is completely beautiful, full of bliss, full of knowledge, no old age, no disease, no disease, and no trace of any misery. The atheists will come back, life after life to suffer in the metrial creation. Also in this life, the daily actions we take are determined by the consciousness we have developed. By engaging in Bhakti, we purify our consciousness and thus we develop better jugdment skills which will result in making the right decisions which will make our life less miserable. For the non-devotees they only become more materially contaminated and they go deeper into ignorance and make the wrong decisions in the life, which will result in more suffering in this life and defijnitely after this life for thousands of lifetimes. This is the difference it makes between doing Bhakti and not.

By studying the Bhagavad-Gita, we sharpen our intelligence and develop good judgement skills in all fields of life, including business, work, social, and engineering.

“Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.66)

Here Krishna states that the karma we have accumulated in many life times will be erased bit by bit if we engage in Bhakti unto Him. There is no doubt that devotees and non-devotees suffer from cancer and other miseries of material life, but Krishna states that by doing Bhakti, He will erase our sins, and so we will suffer less and at the end of this, He will completly erase all our remaining sins, and take us back to His abode. Thus we should listen to Krishna and not some atheist or the foolish.

I have read many parts of the Bible, Koran, and had many discussions with their followers. They could not answer the most basic question that a relisionist should ask “Can you describe God?”. By following the non-Vedic religions, one will NEVER know God. He will just be a name in a book, invisible, unseen, unknown, and unreal.

Lord Krishna is the only seen and proven God.

06APR2015

How to reduce our Pride?

We can reduce our pride by first accepting that we have pride and then changing our consciousness to become humble, tolerant, forgiving, compassionate, free from the mentality of ownership of anything, and completely surrendering unto Lord Krishna and enaging in His service via deity service, chanting, kirtans, preaching, etc…

How to reduce Material Lust?

“One who is free from illusion, false prestige, and false association, who understands the eternal, who is done with material lust and is freed from the duality of happiness and distress, and who knows how to surrender unto the Supreme Person, attains to that eternal kingdom.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-G-ta 15.5)

Material lust means, we want this and that, go here and there, do this and that, and so on..  Some think that we can buy a nice luxury car and as long as we let Krishna sit in it, it’s fine. Yes it’s fine, but leave it at the Temple, so Krishna can sit in it everyday at His will, and not just once or once a year. A big house is fine, but let Krishna have the biggest room and not the smallest room. If you want to offer an iphone to Krishna, please leave it at the altar so He can make calls anytime and not when you have time.

Someone once stated Krishna loves somasas and so I cook them often for Him. This is good if it’s trully for Him and not you, please bring them to the Temple after offering them to Him (at least sometimes), and let all the devotees enjoy the parsadam.

“If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.26)

If we truly want to please Kirshna, then all He wants is our love and not any material objects. Merrabai, Prahlad, Druva, Harishchandra and many other pure devotees, never had desires for material objects nor did they have any luxury material objects. They saw Krishna face to face and achieved His love, the ultimate goal of Bhakti. We should learn from these pure devotees.

Do you believe in the existence of the soul?
If you accept that there is the soul, then you have to give credit to Lord Krishna, because He is the first Person to give this knowlede of the existence of the soul.

“For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.20)

The above was spoken 5000 years ago, long before any other scripture on the planet.

Please download unique charts with Vedic knowledge and distribute these charts to others and help promote the truth. There are charts in 2 sizes with the size given so you can print and place on walls. I have placed these charts in 5 Temples and will place in more Temples this year. Please do the same and help to promote the truth, Sanatan-Dharma. Also let me know where you place them, for my record.

The seasons will come and go
Money will come and go
Jobs will come and go
Lawyers will come and go
Scientists will come and go
Only spiritual knowledge will go with you, and nothing else. Even good deeds like building hospitals and feeding the poor (with no spiritual knowledge) is of temporary benefit, because you will come back to enjoy the fruits of your good deeds, but you can’t be good in every life, and so eventually you will become degraded and become sinful and then take birth among degraded humans and eventually among the lower species. This is the fact of life.
“Nature is said to be the cause of all material causes and effects, whereas the living entity is the cause of the various sufferings and enjoyments in this world. The living entity in material nature thus follows the ways of life, enjoying the three modes of nature. This is due to his association with that material nature. Thus he meets with good and evil among various species.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 13.21-22)
Listen to your iphone creator “Life is an intelligent design, nothing happens by chance” (Steve Jobs)
“Whatever state of being one remembers when he quits his body, that state he will attain without fail. (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 8.6)
Everything in your current life is based on the designs you created in your previous lives. You are designing you next life with the actions you are taking now. Get spiritual knowledge and engage in Bhakti unto Lord Krishna and this will be your last material life.
“This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 7.14)

03MAR2015

A relative of mine passed away yesterday. This makes me realize that we should not waste time and engage in Bhakti unto Lord Krishna, so we don’t come back to this miserable material creation. As Kali Yuga passes, things will only get worse, not better. So stay on the Bhakti path and go back to Godhead at the end of this life. We should also help others to advance in spiritual consciousness and take them back too.

25FEB2015

As devotees, we MUST lower our ego/pride/material desires. This is advancement of spiritual consciousness and this will lead to us realizing the following verse:
“The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater [outcaste].” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 5.18)
We MUST serve Lord Krishna in someway EVERYDAY.
The root cause of sinful activites and irreligions, is ignorance among Vedic followers. When ignorant Hindus die, they take birth among those with lower consciousness (non-Vedic religions). This is a fact. Also due to ignorance, people change religions. Thus we MUST preach more as advised by Lord Krishna (18.68-69), and Lord Caitanya (Every Indian should become a Guru).
We must only talk about a subject matter if we know about it, and NEVER otherwise. Thus only talk about Lord Krishna, if you have first read the Bhagavad-Gita. Only talk about other religions, if you have read and understood their scriptures. Preaching to people of other religions, should only be done after having some knowledge about their basic beliefs and their scriptures. To know the truth about other religions is actually difficult, because they will lie to promote or save their religion as prescribed by their scriptures. Thus you must read yourself AND learn from those who have read and understood thier teachings.

We should not be envious of anyone, but at the same we have to know the truth. We have to know that Krishna is in the heart of all living beings, but not living being is civilized. Ths we cannot approach lions and think I can bow down to Krishn within them, becuase they will eat you.

20FEB2015

Another year gone, another month gone, another week gone. Another life will be gone, before we know it.
Trillions of $ cannot bring back yesterday and Trillions of $ cannot buy us 1 extra second, when it’s time to go, we have to go. We cannot stop time, we cannot stop old age , we cannot stop death. But we can certainly prepare for death, the final examination. If somehow we can think of Krishna at the time of death. The soul is immediately tranferred to the spiritual creation called Vaikuntha. Where there is no old age, no disease, no taxes, no terrrorists, no death, no lay offs, no misery of any kind.
Please take advantage of Vedic knowledge and this unique website.

12FEB2015

The Vedic followers must do more to preach the Vedic values and stop the world from becoming more degraded. There are others who are preaching to make God invisible and unknown, and make the humans into first class haters and deceivers. God can only be known to the Sanatan-Dharma followers and it’s teachings are most civilized, all others are making humans more uncivilized.

The 6 Pillars of Sanatan-Dharma includes truthfulness and mercy, thse cannot be found in other religions.

06FEB2015

Narada Muni said,

“You are spending your days uselessly only meditating on how to increase your wealth. You should know very well that this material wealth is useless and the cause of all suffering. Real supreme wealth is transcendental knowledge.

–      Please try to think about this for once seriously within your heart. None of your family members, like your wife and children and all your relatives, are yours eternally. At the time of your death no one will be yours. When you will die all your relatives will put your body into river water to float away and go back to their homes. If no one is a real relative of anyone then why do you run after these false hopes, hankering for so much material achievement?

–      If you say that at least you are achieving pleasure in your life and are free from suffering and that is your justification for trying to accumulate so much wealth, dear king, that is also false, because this body will be destroyed one day. It will not exist more than 100 years.

–      Therefore you should understand that the essence of everything is beyond this illusory material world in the spiritual world, where there is no trace of suffering in the enjoyment. In this material world some enjoyment is there but it always comes along with suffering.

–      One must know how to cross over material nescience. What kind of sadhana should one follow to achieve that wonderful result of going back to Godhead, where there is no sorrow or suffering? Not only by renunciation nor just by knowledge can one achieve that. By knowledge and renunciation one may become free from material bondage and get liberation. But by achieving that kind of liberation one does not get real pleasure. In fact to get that kind of liberation is the greatest loss, because material pleasure is lost and at the same time not much worthwhile is achieved.

–      Therefore the actually intelligent person will not accept bhukti or mukti, material sense gratification or liberation. Rather they practice, Bhakti-yoga, devotional service to Lord Sri Krishna. To be detached from material things and attached to the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krishna is everything on one’s life – sambandha, abhidheya and prayojana.

–      The jiva is the eternal servant of Sri Krishna. Without Bhakti everything is destroyed. The tree of Bhakti, Bhakti-Vriskha, gives the fruit of prema. That fruit is prayojana or the final goal of life.

–      That Krishna-prema is our eternal wealth, in comparison to which bhukti and mukti are insignificant. Lord Sri Krishna is sat, cit and ananda. He is like the sun, the jivas are like rays of the sun and maya is the shadow. The Jiva is the tatastha sakti, marginal energy of the Lord and due to his marginal nature, when he comes in contact with maya she puts him in bondage. When the jiva becomes Krishna-bahirmukha or turns his face away from Krishna, he touches maya.

–      By coming in contact with maya the jiva falls into the bondage of karma. Being caught by the net of maya the jiva moves around in the material universes and undergoes lots of suffering.

–      Due to his attachment to karma he does not get liberation even if he tries his best to be free from suffering. Sometimes the jiva engages in logic. In spite of all these he ultimately remains in bondage, due to his non-acceptance of the real wealth of knowledge about the science of the self.

–      If the jiva, while traversing this material world, gets the association of a sadhu then he will achieve sraddha or faith. In due course of time by practicing, Bhakti-yoga, devotional service to Lord Sri Krishna in the association of devotees, his heart will become free from anarthas, unwanted desires, and then he will achieve nistha, steadiness. After continuing his bhajana, at some time due to that nistha, he will develop ruci or taste and then later he will develop attachment or asakti to the Lord. From asakti he will attain bhava, which will later bring him to the platform of prema.

–      This is the gradual process of achieving pure Bhakti, devotion. By practicing nine kinds of devotional service in the association of devotees, one will achieve the wealth of Krishna-prema.”

19JAN2015

I learnt the following from a Maharaj:

For the devotional services performed by the husband, the wife gets 50% of the benefit attained by the husband. Thus the husband gets 100%, wife 50%. It’s for this reason that in Vedic culture, the wife serves the husband, because she will get 50% of the benefits from the husbands’ good work.

For the devotional services performed by the wife, the husband gets nothing. The wife’s account is personal, and the husband’s account is shared. For the sinful activities committed by the wife, the husband has to pay 50%. This is one of the reasons why women should be protected from degradation, because the husbands will also be punished.

“When irreligion is prominent in the family, O Krsna, the women of the family become corrupt, and from the degradation of womanhood, O descendant of Vrsni, comes unwanted progeny.” (Bhagavad-Gita 1.40)

17JAN2015

Eat fresh. Throw out the microwave, as this will force you to eat old, frozen and unfresh foods. Our consciousness is definitely affected by what we eat. Eating unfresh foods makes us more lazy and blinds us by making us more ignorant of the truth. Eating flesh is only for the Lions and Tigers. Only the animals eat other animals.

“Food prepared more than three hours before being eaten, food that is tasteless, decomposed and putrid, and food consisting of remnants and untouchable things is dear to those in the mode of darkness.”  (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 17.10)

13JAN2015

What I keep realizing is that due to lack of knowledge there is degradation of humans everywhere in the world.

Studying the Bhagavad-Gita is Bhakti

One is performing Bhakti with intelligence if they study the Bhagavad-Gita.

“And I declare that he who studies this sacred conversation worships Me by his intelligence. ” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.70)

The Highest Bhakti

Performing deity worship, going to Temples, going on pilgrimage, meditating, and chanting the glories and names of Lord Krishna is certainly good, but the highest Bhakti is to spread the teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita to all of humanity.

“For one who explains the supreme secret to the devotees, devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end he will come back to Me. There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 18.68-69)

We MUST do more to spread the Vedic values to all.

01JAN2015

Happy new year. May this year bring you closer to self-realization. This means to know that we are the eternal soul and not the temporary body.

“Life is an intelligent design, nothing happens by chance.” (Steve Jobs, Founder of Apple Inc.)

If it’s Monday then Tuesday will come for sure. If one week is over, another week will start for sure. If it’s 2015, then 2016 will come forsure. In a similar way, happiness and distress will come and go. So stay focused on the spiritual path and not get deviated by the winds of material life (happiness, distress, disease, people problems and so on.)

The soul has 3 qualities, it is eternal, full of knowledge and full of bliss/love.

Within each and everyone of us, we have the knowledge to create even a universe, just like Lord Brahma. But currently we can’t because the knowledge is covered. Just like a mirror is covered with dust, if we wipe off the dust, slowly we can see everything. In a similar way, if we uncover our ignorance, we can realize that we have incredible knowledge. We don’t attain kowledge, but we simply uncover the covering that is blocking/hiding the knowledge.  In some people the knowledge is more uncovered than others, and thus we have different levels of knowledge and understanding.

The 3 qualities of all Souls:

sac – Eternal

cid – Full of knowledge

ananda – Blissful

“As the blazing fire turns firewood to ashes, O Arjuna, so does the fire of knowledge burn to ashes all reactions to material activities.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.37)

So how does one uncover more knowledge?

Quality teachers/Gurus. Listen to those who have seen the truth and not those who only imagine or guess or pretend.

“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.34)

20DEC2014

God is a person with a form and He is pleased by personal service.

What benefit would a King or President of country get from people bowing down to him or calling his name? Absolutely nothing.

What benefit would a child get if someone calls his/her name or bows down to him? Absolutely nothing.

What benefit would you get if someone calls your name or bows down to you? Absolutely nothing.

In a similar way, God gets absolutely no benefit if people just call His name or bow down to Him. The King/President can only benefits if people serve him by offering crops/taxes/goods which the King/President can use for himself and to maintain his kingdom/country. The child only benefits if his mother or others give him/her food, clothing, and shelter. In a similar way, God can only be benefited and pleased if we serve Him, by offering Him water, leaf, flower, and other items. This is called deity service. Serving Him in Person and in His deity form is the same, because He is so merciful that He accepts our service in our current condition. In the material creation, it is not possible for everyone to see God in His original form every day, and so He manifests Himself in the form of a deity, so everyone gets a chance to serve Him. God is omnipotent and omnipresent and so He manifests Himself in deities, to prove that He is merciful by giving everyone the chance to serve Him. This is the Vedic teaching, which comes from God Himself.

The whole purpose of Religion is to know and serve God. One is religious if he knows God as a person and serves Him via deity service.

Deity service includes offering Him food items, chanting His names, and chanting His glories. It is not that God needs our food or items, no. He is the one who supplies us with everything. Our offerings to Him gives us the chance to serve Him. On mother’s day the child will buy items using the mother’s money and give to the mother and she is very pleased. In a similar way, God is very pleased if we think of Him and thank Him for all He gives us by offering some of His items back to Him.

“If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.26)

“But those who worship Me with devotion, meditating on My transcendental form–to them I carry what they lack and preserve what they have.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.22)

“Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form. They do not know My transcendental nature and My supreme dominion over all that be.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 9.11)

Spiritual and Material Consciousness

What is Spirituality?

Spiritual and Material Consciousness

Spirituality is that which is concerned with the eternal. Materialism is that which is concerned with the temporary.

Material Consciousness

  1. To believe that this is the first and/or the only life is material consciousness
  2. To believe that we never existed before this life is material consciousness
  3. To believe that we are the body (dust) is material consciousness
  4. The desire to go to heaven and enjoy beautiful women/men is material consciousness
  5. Anything related to the body is material consciousness
  6. Matter is material
  7. Anything that is created or has a beginning/founding is temporary (material), because it will be destroyed in due course by that which is eternal, time

Spiritual Consciousness

  1. To believe that we are eternal is spiritual consciousness
  2. To believe that we exited before this life and will continue to exist after this life is spiritual consciousness
  3. To believe that we are the soul which is eternal and not the body which is temporary, is spiritual consciousness
  4. The desire to go to the spiritual creation is spiritual consciousness
  5. Anything related to the soul is spiritual consciousness
  6. Anti-matter is spiritual
  7. Time is eternal, anything related to eternality is spiritual
  8. Sanatan-Dharma means Eternal Religion, it’s eternal and thus spiritual

“Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be. As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 2.12-13)

“The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 15.7)

“You are the supreme primal objective. You are the ultimate resting place of all this universe. You are inexhaustible, and You are the oldest. You are the maintainer of the eternal religion, the Personality of Godhead. This is my opinion.” (Arjuna to Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 11.18)

If one wants to be spiritual then one must follow the eternal path, Sanatan-Dharma.
